Dr Richard Everts MBChB, FRACP, ABMM

Richard is an Infectious Disease Specialist and Medical Microbiologist with Nelson Bays Primary Health and Nelson Marlborough DHB.  He is also an expert clinical advisor for ACC on infection claims. Richard has made a number of trips to the Pacific Islands (including Cook Islands, Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, Niue and Kiribati) with the World Health Organization or NZ Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, to support antibiotic guidelines and stewardship, microbiology laboratory testing, and infection prevention and control. He also does a small amount of acute general medicine in NZ and Australia and runs a private internal medicine clinic in Nelson and Marlborough. His main research interest is currently antibiotic pharmacokinetics.
