Dr Dean Harris

Dr Dean Harris

Dr Dean Harris is a medical oncologist working for Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand Waitaha Canterbury. He is tumour lead for gastrointestinal and central nervous system malignancies and has a particular interest in 5-Fluorouracil cardiotoxicity. Dr Harris trained in Christchurch before going on to complete his fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London working on phase 1 drug development trials. Dr Harris is an honorary clinical lecturer and the director of training in Christchurch. Dr Harris is also a clinical investigator and has been a principal investigator on numerous international trials. His main research interest is in gastrointestinal cancers with a focus on 5-fluorouracil chemotherapy. He is an active collaborator in trial group research from investigator lead organisations along with several phase 2 and 3 studies in GI, lung and CNS cancers. MD (Zagreb), FRACP Dragan is a medical oncologist at Auckland City Hospital and Auckland Oncology. His area of expertise is the whole spectrum of gastrointestinal tumours.
