Rotorua GP CME – Abbvie Breakfast Session Speaker Series

In this review:

Welcome to this summary of the two presentations made at the Saturday morning Abbvie Breakfast Session at Rotorua GP CME, held June 11–14, 2015. Dr Tracey Kain discussed the importance of investigating extra-articular features for clues to aid in distinguishing between different types of inflammatory arthritis, particularly for spondyloarthritis (including psoriatic arthritis) and connective tissue diseases, and presented three cases managed at her clinic. Dr David Gardner then gave an insightful overview of biological therapies for the management of immunemediated inflammatory disorders, emphasising the role of GPs in managing and monitoring the patients who are prescribed these agents.
