We’re delighted to add a summary of two presentations given at the TSANZ symposium in Christchurch, New Zealand, March 2023.
The first presentation, given by Professor Eric Bateman, the founder of the University of Cape Town Lung Institute, focused on the evidence base supporting the role of type 2 inflammation in multiple airway diseases. He also outlined the heterogeneity of asthma, presenting evidence for the role of biomarkers in patients with severe asthma.
The second presentation by Dr Alistair Cook involved a case study of a man with high-risk asthma with elevated biomarkers.
