The first presentation, given by Dr Carlos Lojo Rial, an Emergency physician at St Thomas’ Hospital, UK, focused on the evidence base supporting the use of methoxyflurane for emergency pain, as well as outlining how this agent was incorporated into a busy Emergency Department (ED) in London. Arlene Bannon, a Nurse Practitioner in the ED at the Nepean Hospital, Sydney, illustrated the benefits of using methoxyflurane in the ED by presenting a patient case study.
